What was the experience like at the Stranger Things experience?

Here’s some information to help you decide if this experience is worth your time, without revealing too much.

I recently got an invitation to visit “Stranger Things: The Drive-Into Experience,” a relatively new attraction in Los Angeles based on the popular Netflix series, “Stranger Things.” As someone who rarely watches television these days, I approached the event with an open mind, unsure of what to expect.

Initially, I learned that this attraction is exclusive to Los Angeles. I was also provided with a food and drink menu in case my guest and I wanted to order refreshments while enjoying the show from the comfort of our car. The drive into the parking lot was quite lengthy before receiving the menu.

We were also directed to set our radio to 90.5 FM. With limited options available, we opted for the pretzel package, which included two pretzels, cheese, and a drink that, to be frank, was no better than subpar school cafeteria food.

As we continued our drive, we were instructed to switch the radio to 95.3 FM, where an unusual narrative program commenced.

The event featured an abundance of strobe lights, artificial snow, and actors in uniforms bustling about, reminiscent of a theme park experience like Universal Studios. I might have enjoyed the event more had I been a fan of the show or at least somewhat familiar with it; however, my lack of connection left me feeling rather uninterested. The only aspect I truly appreciated was the dedication of the actors, actresses, and staff, along with a few surprising moments—one being a security warning to stop recording and others involving characters dressed as Russians.

Reflecting on the tour, I realized I could have entertained myself at home with the various setups that were arranged across different levels of a parking garage. In contrast, my guest, who is a fan of the show, shared my sentiments and added, “this would have been more enjoyable on a date with a lover.” 😂

In summary, my friend was pleased to have attended but mentioned she wouldn’t return. Conversely, she noted that it could have made for a nice date experience.
